About the Grant
The Full-Service Community Schools Grant will serve an estimated 1,746 K-12 students in Jefferson County and Lewis County, specifically within the Belleville-Henderson, Copenhagen, LaFargeville, and Sackets Harbor school districts.
The work of the grant will strengthen connections between school day, families, students, and the community by providing academic enrichments to improve ELA/Math performance, youth development to promote social skills, emotional well-being, arts/music experiences to expose students to new interests/careers, and student-driven activities to enhance academic outcomes and career knowledge.
The work of the grant is to also implement a comprehensive socio-emotional learning plan to help students acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.
