NYS Rental Supplement Program

HAP-Lewis also administers an NYS Rent Supplement Program contracted through Lewis County DSS. This program is very similar to Section 8, but broadens eligibility to include certain people who would be unable to access a Section 8 voucher; this could include hard-to-house populations such as lifetime registered sex offenders, consumers with certain past drug convictions, those who owe substantial arrears to Section 8, as well as undocumented immigrants.
