Foster care services available to youth in Lewis County who are unable to stay with their families due to a variety of reasons. Foster care services may include: housing either in a foster or kinship home, supportive services including mental health, referrals to community services, and recruitment and training of new foster families.

"The Fraud Unit conducts investigations of clients and vendors where there is an allegation or suspicion of fraudulent activity concerning benefits or potential benefits by Social Services. This could include, but not limited to, unreported income, unreported resources and household composition being in question."

Child Protective Service is a mandated service that is required to investigate any reports of suspected child abuse or maltreatment. Services to families to prevent abuse and maltreatment of a child are also provided when needed.
